The Talent Ready Utah Center’s Utah Works Program promotes partnerships between businesses and the Utah System of Technical Colleges, as well as the Utah System of Higher Education, to help fill high-demand positions and provide technical skills training. This program brings industry, post-secondary institutions, and state agencies together to address specific workforce gaps identified by companies.

The goal of the Utah Works Program is to develop workforce solutions that meet the needs of businesses that are creating jobs and economic growth through expansion or new ventures in the state. Money for the Utah Works Program is appropriated by the Legislature as defined in Senate Bill 172 (63N-12-505 – Utah Works).

The Talent Ready Utah Center provides coordination support and financial incentives to create partnerships to meet the specific needs of industry. Businesses partner with educational institutions that submit an application for review and approval by the Talent Ready Utah Board. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis and are subject to funding availability.

Organizations involved in Talent Ready Utah span industry, education and the public sector. Partners include organizations such as the Department of Workforce Services, Salt Lake Chamber, Utah System of Higher Education, the Utah System of Technical Colleges and the Utah State Board of Education, to name a few. Some of Talent Ready Utah’s industry partners include Boeing, Cummins Rocky Mountain, Instructure, Komatsu, Merit Medical, Nelson Labs and Northrop Grumman — all are committed to developing the workforce of the future and growing Utah’s economy.
